National Youths Corps members have been charged to set performance target to gear them up towards rapid personal and national development.
Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero gave the charge Tuesday, April 01, 2014 at the conclusion of orientation course for the first batch of 2014 National Youths Service Corps members posted to Kaduna State, held at Black Gold National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp, Abuja Road Kaduna.
Represented by his Deputy, Amb. Nuhu Audu Bajoga, the Governor observed that the NYSC scheme has been standing the test of time since its introduction in 1973, touching lives of many beneficiaries in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole, pledging Kaduna State Government’s sustainable support to it towards maximum realization of its goals and objectives.
He stressed Kaduna State Government’s premium consideration for the security and welfare of all Corps members serving in the State, urging stakeholders and employers to pay utmost attention and support to them.
Governor Yero enjoined Corps members to integrate freely with members of host communities, learn their cultures and actively participate in their development efforts through initiating and executing viable community projects as well as partnering with the State Government to ensure a peaceful society.
In her welcome address, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Ango pointed out that in line with the NYSC Directorate’s posting policy, special consideration has been given to Education sector especially its institutions in rural communities as well as Health and Agriculture sectors and rural infrastructures, explaining that most of the Corps members have been posted to schools to teach.
She called on school authorities to give Corps members maximum support to bring out their best.
