Biography of Commissioner of Information


MINISTRY OF INFORMTION & HOME AFFAIRS

Hon. Commissioner Saidu A Adamu

Hon. Saidu A. Adamu was born on December 25, 1965 at Dawakin Bassa, Birnin Gwari LGA, Kaduna State. Saidu A. Adamu joined the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in 2001 and contested the Birnin Gwari LGA Chairmanship in 2002 but was told by the Party to step down for the subsequent Chairman which he obliged. He later contested and won both the Primary and General Election into the Kakangi Constituency of Birnin Gwari Local Government in the Kaduna State House of Assembly in May 2003.

As Hon. Member Kaduna House of Assembly, he served as the House Committee Chairman on:

  1. Youth and Sports;

  2. Establishment, Pension and Training;

  3. Information

He was also member of various Committees, Sub-committees and Adhoc-Committees. He has sponsored and co-sponsored many Motions and Bills in the House Sessions.

Hon. Saidu A. Adamu contested again the House of Representatives Seat of Birnin Gwari/Giwa LG Federal Constituency in Nov. 2006 but lost in the Primaries. However, in 2007 April Presidential Election, Hon. Saidu A. Adamu became the PDP Returning Officer in Birnin Gwari LGA following. On August 4, 2007 Hon. Saidu A. Adamu became the Honourable Commissioner of Information and Home Affairs, Kaduna State.
