on PPP based-projects to create a new socio-economic
status in our local economy. Our
11 Point Agenda is designed to compliment Mr.

ADDRESSING THE ISSUE OF ENERGY
The State’s energy supply plays a major part in
contributing to its enduring economic success. Thus,
the issue of domestic Water Supply and Hydropower
became a higher priority
– to ensure that there is adequate supply of
electricity to meet growing consumer and industrial
demand and help ensure continued economic success
into the future.
One of the major constraints in the past to water
resources and hydro development is the lack of basic
planning data.
Kaduna State Energy Action Plan
1. Development of Major Dams with Hydroelectric
Power Generation Potentials in Kaduna State
2. The Gurara Dam Hydro Scheme
3. The Emergency Power Fuel Plant
The Emergency Power
Fuel-oil Plant to generate 100 Megawatt
This is one area where Kaduna State is going to
generate 100MW through PPP in order to address the
current problem that has led to the closure of our
industries in Kaduna State.
As a result an SPV has been established with
Geometric Alphine, a Nigerian Power Generation
Company and our application to benefit from the
China Exxim Bank credit buyer facilities (managed by
Nexxim Bank) has been submitted.
A project site has been allocated and the designed
completed including the design of the 132/33kV
Sub-station that will evacuate the power to the
industrial area
