PRESS STATEMENT

His Excellency Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo fnia the Executive Governor of Kaduna State has approved the release of various sums of money for settlement of outstanding financial commitments of the State Government.

The sum of N22million was released as Bursary Allowance for 2009/2009 Law students of Kaduna State in our tertiary institutions of learning, while the sums of (fifty seven million seven hundred and eighty seven thousand eight hundred naira only (N57,787,800.00) was released for students in the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria as 70% of the school fees of the students of the NCAT. Furthermore,  twenty seven million nine hundred and thirty nine thousand seven hundred and fifty five (N27,939,755) being the 50% subsidy of school fees payable by Kaduna State indigenes to the Kaduna State University (KASU) for the year 2008/2009 academic session was also released.

Graduates/postgraduates medical students totaling 21 post-graduate students comprising of 8 doctors, 3 pharmacists,  7 medical laboratories scientists and 4 nurses while 72 medical students under the state’s medical students sponsorship programme in their final year will enjoy the sum of N9,650,000 released by the state government. This amount was approved for them to support them to cover accommodation, workshop fees, examinations, project allowance (for undergraduates) and other upkeep services.

Similarly, the sum of one hundred and thirteen thousand three hundred and ninety one thousand three hundred naira twelve kobo (N113,391,300.12) has been released for the payment of pension to batch 6 of the State pensioners. This is in keeping with the spirit of due process and ensuring that this category of people receive some succour and further enhance their educational as well as equitable pursuits in their chosen endeavours
