PROTOCOL
With gratitude to Almighty Allah, I am pleased to address you
today on the occasion of the maiden graduation ceremony of
the trainees under my pet project —“I Care Women and Youth
Initiative.’ The project which is non governmental, is
founded on the basis of addressing some perennial problems
affecting women, youth, children and the physically
challenged amongst us, particularly in the areas of
economic empowerment, basic literacy, improved maternal
and infant health and combating the HIV/AIDS scourge among
others.
Indeed, this task cannot be left to government alone; as such
it needs collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in the
society. Therefore, no amount of sacrifice in impacting
positively to those in need is too much, as it will make
them channel their energies towards productive ventures as
well as contribute to nation’s development.
Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, I Care Women and
Youth Initiative is today graduating its first batch of
trainees totaling one hundred and ninety-six, out of which
one hundred and fifty were trained in computer
appreciation, twenty-five in welding, painting, mechanic
and panel-beating skills while twenty-one women acquired
various skills as some of their products will be unveiled
later.
The trainees were drawn from the 23 Local Government areas of
the state, amongst which are the physically challenged.
While I join other numerous well wishers to congratulate
you all, I urge you to use the training acquired by
contributing to societal growth through mentoring others.
Let me appeal to the benefiting local governments,
organizations and corporate bodies to utilize graduals of
the scheme. On our part, we shall provide resettlement
tools to some of the trainees. This graduation ceremony
serves as a milestone in the life of this project.
I will like to assure members of the society that God’s
willing we shall reach out to as many people as possible,
as the exercise is a continuous one, which we hope wilt be
sustained even after us.
Finally, I will like to use this great opportunity to thank
all our supporters and well wishers, especially the
management of Bank PHB, Khemsafe Computers, Dialogue
Computers, Miclab Structural Steel, members of the Board
of Trustees, the entire family of I Care Women and Youth
Initiative and the good people of Kaduna State for their
wonderful contribution towards our successful take off.
May Allah reward you all, and take you back to your
various destinations safely, ameen.
Thank you and God bless.
