PRESS STATEMENT -  on a working visit to Cairo, Egypt.

As part of the efforts of the Arc Namadi Administration to improve Agriculture and other sectors of the economy in the State coupled with Security, favourable Health conditions, create sources of Employment and serve as a means for Poverty reduction, a team of experts under His Excellency's able leadership was constituted to embark on a working visit to Cairo, Egypt.

The team consisted of the Commissioner of Agriculture Ahmed Samaila Abdullahi, Chairman House Committee on Agriculture Kaduna State House of Assembly Alh Abdullahi Nasiru Maikano, Special Adviser Security Col G B Mamman (rtd), Programme Manager (KADP) Dr Abdullahi Kassim, the Director of Agricultural Services Mr. Silas La'ah, Director of Irrigation Engr Umar J. Umar and the Director of Fadama KADP Mr. Ishaku Daudu.

While in Cairo, the team visited the Nigerian Embassy and some agencies of government and met with high ranking Egyptian officials where issues of bilateral relations were discussed. These include areas like soil, water and environmental development where the Soil, Water and Environment Research Institute (SWERI) was visited. Ministry for Water Resources, General Authority for investment and Free Zones (GAF) and Hostage & Rescue Force Unit (HRF).

On the issue of Soil Erosion and Environment Development, the meeting agreed to come up with procedures, modalities and Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) on how experts for the institute and the State official will conclude all the arrangements.

The Ministry of Water Resources was to assist in the area of agriculture with emphasis on Irrigation Development Scheme, to partner in developing and utilizing the 20000 hectare land in Gurara Dam for irrigation farming. The State Government is also expected to sponsor three (3) experts to come and assess the situation and to also partner in training of personnel on agriculture.

The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAF) was to advertise through the Nigerian Embassy in Cairo for the recruitment of fifty (50) Medical Doctors in various fields by Kaduna State; the idea of organizing seminars/conferences and inviting investors and other interested groups with a view to exposing the investment potentials of the State in the areas of agriculture, health and education amongst others; sourcing for joint venture partners and investors in the area of Health Personnel.

A university of Medicine to also partner with Kaduna State University in Pre-Clinical studies, provision of Health and Medical facilities, establishment of chemical laboratory water expansion treatment and developments.

Finally, the delegation paid a working visit to Hostage Rescue Force where His Excellency requested for their cooperation and assistance in the Training of the State internal security apparatus, technology and techniques for effective combat of crimes in the State.
