AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK
TO PARTNER KADUNA STATE
ON POWER & WATER SUPPLY

The African Development
Bank (ADB) has consented
to partner with Kaduna
State Government in the
areas of Power and Water
Supply. This was
disclosed at the
headquarters of the Bank
in Tunis by the
President of the Bank
Mr. Donald Kaberuka in
his office when the
delegation of Kaduna
State Government led by
His Excellency Arc
Mohammed Namadi Sambo
paid him a working visit
today. Mr. Kaberuka, who
was delighted to receive
the delegation in his
office, promised to give
priority attention to
these two areas. He
immediately directed for
a Technical Meeting with
two of his vice
presidents; Mr. Booby J.
Bittman Vice President
Operations and Mr. Ordu
Aloysus Uche
The President, while
delivering his remarks
promised to support the
Zaria Water Project on
Reticulation and
Distribution services.
Towards this end, he
promised to send a
Review Mission Team in
January 2010.
Similarly, at the
technical session by top
officials, Including Dr
Shehu Yahaya Executive
Director Operations,
they enthused the
willingness of the bank
to support Higher
Education as it is their
priority area.
On the Millennium City
initiative, the bank was
ecstatic that such a
laudable project is in
the pipeline in Kaduna
State. They however,
advised the State to
appoint a Transaction
Adviser to the project.
Finally, the Bank
promised to join hands
with the State to
support Public Private
Partnership projects
currently run by the
State.
