EXCELLENCY, ARC MOHAMMED NAMADI SAMBO, THE EXECUTIVE
GOVERNOR OF KADUNA STATE, AT THE UNVEILING CEREMONY OF THE
MASCOT AND LOGO FOR THE 16TH NATIONAL SPORTS
FESTIVAL (KADA GAMES 2008) HELD ON SATURDAY 24TH
MAY, 2008 AT THE CRYSTAL GARDEN HOTEL, KINSHASA ROAD,
KADUNA
PROTOCOL
It is an honour to welcome you to Kaduna
State for this all-important event. On behalf of the
Government and people of Kaduna State, may I seize this
opportunity to express our gratitude to the Honourable
Minister of Sports and Chairman National Sports
Commission, his able Director General and entire staff of
the National Sports Commission and indeed all stakeholders
in sports, for your support as we prepare for a festival
that will Insha Allah, for a long time remain in the
memories of Nigerians, as one of the best ever.
Kaduna State Government, in pursuance of
sports development as one of the major cardinal aspects of
its Eleven Point Agenda, has resolved and is committed to
upgrading existing sporting facilities and the
construction of new ones, not only for the purpose of the
16th National Sports Festival to be hosted by
the State, but for the future use by its vibrant youth.
You may wish to note that the existing sporting facilities
in the State are more than adequate for the requirements
of the festival but we are compelled to upgrade the
existing structures and construct new ones in view of our
strong conviction that sports development is a very potent
tool in the combat of restiveness among our youths.
The pragmatic steps we are taking to
provide an enabling environment where our youth can fully
express themselves and realize their full potential are
the same steps we are taking in harnessing and boosting
all the socio-economic sectors of the State.
May I at this juncture invite the rest of
the world to the serenity peace, warmth and the abundant
investment opportunities we are creating in areas of
Agro-Allied Industry, Solid Mineral Development, Commerce
and Tourism. To promote the investment potentials of the
State, our administration has among others carried out the
following:

I wish to thank you for taking time out of
your busy schedule to join us on this historic occasion of
unveiling the Logo and Mascot as official identities for
the 16th National Sports Festival thereby
setting the state for the plethora of activities that will
engulf the State in the coming months.
With these few remarks, I wish to reassure
you all of the commitment of our administration to
Completion of all the sporting facilities earmarked for
the forthcoming National Sports Festival (KADA GAMES,
2008) and give all the necessary support to both the Local
and Main Organizing Committees (LOC and MOC) to ensure a
successful organization of the sporting fiesta
I also want to draw the attention of all to
the already known fact that Government alone cannot
shoulder the responsibility of sports development.
I am therefore compelled to use this
opportunity to call on captains of industries in the
private sector, well meaning Nigerians and other
stakeholders to partner with us towards the attainment of
our collective objectives
On behalf of the good people of Kaduna
state and in the name of ALLAH, I hereby unveil the Mascot
and Logo for the 16th National Sports Festival
